Nutrition & Overall Health

Ever heard the old saying “You are what you eat?”

This is true to some degree. What’s more accurate is “You are what you absorb!”

Digestion is a very complex and intricate process that requires many vitamins and minerals to initiate the chemical process of food break down in the body.

Long-term stress is responsible for many imbalances, and a healthy gut is imperative for health of both our mind and body. Without a healthy gut, it is virtually impossible to feel great inside and out.

Stress affects our overall health including digestion. Over time stress depletes the body of nutrients and leaves our bodies unable to extract what we need from our food to maintain health of our hair, skin, teeth, nails, brain, immune system and much more.

Food sensitivities and allergies are also affecting more and more people, and symptoms have a wide range from skin conditions, to cognitive function, to digestive imbalances….. and the list goes on and on…..

What does this mean? Even if you think you’re eating the right foods (which many of us aren’t eating according to our body’s needs), you many not be properly processing the nutrition from the food you eat anyway.

Sometimes we need to improve our relationship With Food.

Our relationship with food can be complicated. We’re often drawn to eat food for reasons other than hunger and aren’t always sure why. A huge contributor to the development of unhealthy relationships with food(s) is emotions. If we eat for our emotions, we aren’t listening to the wisdom of our bodies.
